I had the pleasure of hanging out with my brother-in-law and his girlfriend this past weekend.   One of the things Sarah and I discussed was that she and her young kids have smoothies often in the mornings.

I love smoothies.  They’re quick and easy.  And adding the right ingredients makes them great for people who are in a hurry, but want to boost the healthy systems in their body.


Turmeric, ginger, and apple cider vinegar are the best natural ingredients to fight inflammation, chronic pain, as well as other serious ailments. And the best thing? They are great for skin… who doesn’t want to age as gracefully as possible?

Turmeric -Turmeric has been used for over 2500 years in India. The health benefits of turmeric have been slowly revealing themselves over the centuries. Long known for its anti-inflammatory properties, recent research has revealed that it can be helpful in the treatment of many different health conditions from cancer to Alzheimer’s disease.  One thing to take note of is that research has found that consuming black pepper with turmeric increases its bioavailability.

Consuming turmeric has been shown to prevent and help many forms of cancer, such as; brain tumors, prostate cancer, skin cancer, leukemia… along with others.  It’s also is beneficial for eye and liver health. And the best part, turmeric is show to be very beneficial as a natural anti-inflammatory pain killer, a depression relief, and helps with weight loss. ginger

Ginger has been scientifically proven as a cancer fighter, blood sugar reducer, and stomach ailment healer.  Ginger has also been found to help vertigo, and lower blood pressure.  One of the great benefits that I love is that it is also an anti-inflammatory pain killer. Which helps my fibromyaliga symptoms.



Here is the delicious recipe:

  • 1 can frozen low acid orange juice

  • 1 can organic full fat coconut milk

  • 1 – 1 1/2 full can(s) of  water (depending on how thick you like it)

  • 1/3 bag of frozen peaches

  • 1/3 bag of frozen mangoes

  • 1 banana

  • 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar

  • 2 teaspoons of turmeric

  • 1 teaspoon of ginger

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Put it all in a blender and whir it up.
